Amathus is a short animated thesis film by Lydia Mastrangelo. The film is a retelling of the birth of Aphrodite that explores modern storytelling in relationship to gender. Amathus is a mixed media film that utilizes traditional 2D animation, digital film, and stop-motion which includes paper replacement and sand animation with the intention of recreating pottery.
